TristanScroggins

Mandolin player in Nashville, TN. I play bluegrass and old-time, teach, write about where the music comes from, and why we like it.

On the road with Bronwyn this year, in Nashville studios between tours, and at a handful of camps every summer.

Don’t Call Me Darlin’

An eight-part podcast series on the BGS podcast network about feminism, community, and the women Murphy Henry wrote about in her Women in Bluegrass newsletter. Hosted by my co-producer Carolyn Kendrick.

Every issue of the newsletter is free to read and search in the Women in Bluegrass Archive, which I built alongside the show.

The Old Time 100

A hundred old-time tunes, recorded in a single day with Nashville musicians. George Jackson and I have released four volumes, and the fifth comes in 2027.

Each volume has a tab book, and the transcriptions for every tune are in the Transcription Library. For Vol. 3 I also made a 48-page zine on where its tunes came from: Old Time 100 #3.

Patreon members: every tab, lesson video, and backing track is in the Transcription Library.
